OBJECTIONS, ANSWERED
Common questions from compliance and finance teams
Is the audit trail really tamper-proof?
Yes. SHA-256 hash chaining + event sourcing means any edit invalidates downstream hashes. Reconstructible on demand (in the platform's hash-chained audit implementation and the live simulator on the homepage).
How does self-host compare to open source like DocuSeal?
Free self-host exists. CFO-grade PKI, org-lockable multi-mode enforcement (HIPAA/SOX/FDA), biometric non-repudiation, public verifiable certs, and production support/SLAs do not. We built the cryptographic depth from day one.
Do I still need a BAA or SOC2?
Self-host puts data in your infra, so many internal policies are satisfied by architecture + your own controls. Cryptographic evidence is stronger than many vendor SOC2 attestations for litigation/audit. SOC2/ISO in progress for the hosted option.
What about envelope caps or surprise bills?
Unlimited on every paid tier. No overages. Annual saves ~20%. The calculator shows illustrative modeling vs public list rates at typical volumes (based on our pricing research).
